Testimonials
Based on decades of sailing and boat maintenance, repair jobs and boat sales, I am helping prospective owners regarding boat selection all the way up to finally offering the boat. Having serviced my clients, I am occasionally asking to drop some notes regarding my job. Here is an extract of references from clients I have advised so far:
Choosing the right Jubilee S40 or Swede 55 – consultancy
“Erdmann is a Jubilee S40 / Swede 55 specialist. He has detailed knowledge about the construction and sailing abilities of the Jubilee S40 and Swede 55. He also knows the market well. With his knowledge, he helped me in my search for the right boat, and he prevented that I made the wrong choices in doing so!” Chris Houbolt, Netherlands.
Advice for buying a secondhand Swede 55
“I hired Erdmann to help me assess a particular Swede 55 that, I thought, would be a suitable candidate for purchase. His research and helpful insight helped me look much more carefully into the matter and, I believe, enabled me to make a more informed decision. He is direct, thoughtful, and full of extremely useful information. I would not hesitate to hire him again.” Charles Churchill, Brookline, Massachusetts, USA.

Sales support of an S30
“We have known Erdmann since 1992 as a serene sailor. When we had to sell our S30 on Lake Constance with a heavy heart, we had a competent, technically sound advisor. Moreover, thanks to his precise questions and speedy compilation of an excellent specification, we sold the boat within two weeks!” Maria and Paul Rutishauser, Güttingen, Switzerland.
Buying a used S30
I became aware of Mr. Braschos through his substantial yachting publications on the internet. Due to a planned purchase of a secondhand S30 cruising Square Metre Boat I had questions regarding
- quality of Fisksätra yard manufactures
- structural integrity
- osmosis issues
- lead suspension
- rudder bearings and installation
“The consultancy by Mr Braschos was practical and hands on. It became obvious he is not only an experienced sailor but intimately familiar with boat building and the type in question. His advice helped me to buy the considered boat or refrain from it. Thank you.“ Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Werner Otto, Elmenhorst , Germany (öfftl. best. u. vereidigter Sachverständiger für Elektrotechnische Anlagen und Geräte).
Boat owner advice Swede 41

“As owner of a secondhand Swede 41* I contacted Mr. Braschos via phone, met him during the Hamburg boat show and began with a one-year consultancy due to a firmly agreed budget. Within that year, I had questions regarding
- repair of a leaking chain plate
- rattling rudder bearings (reason and adjustment)
- recommendable mast rake and mast bend
- sail selection
- modification of the toilet
- berthing the boat in the Baltic Sea
All my questions were replied to promptly, within a day or two. I found Mr Braschos to be a competent, straightforward working partner. He is always having a solution, costs, and labour time in mind to achieve the desired result. I was so content with the consultancy that I extended it for another period.” Paul Frey, Bad Ragaz, Switzerland.
* Swede 41 was built in the Nineties as the successor of the popular S30 Cruising Square Metre boat. Based on model two as introduced by Fisksätra yard in the late Seventies with a bigger superstructure. Powered by an enlarged sail area. It was made in lightweight composites (double skinned sandwich cored laminates) and sold by Swedesail in Europe. Swede 41s were delivered by Swedesail 1995/96 and 98 to the Mediterranean and Germany (Lake Constance, Ammersee and central Germany).
